Australia: Broker at WestLB dismissed SABMiller and InBev interest in Foster's

Ben Maitland at WestLB dismissed talks that InBev and SABMiller are eyeing a bid for Australian drinks group Foster's Group, Dow Jones Newswires confirmed November 23. "Both these companies are focused on emerging markets," he said. "Australia is not an emerging market," he added. "I wouldn't attach much credibility to the story." SABMiller and InBev were both unavailable for comment. Foster's shares closed earlier at AU$6.80, up 4.1%, after earlier touching a record AU$6.97. InBev closed at EUR48.90 and SABMiller at 1,093p.
